Oscar Kaiser traded in Lagos as “Oscar Kaiser & Co.” in 1915 and probably travelled regularly between Hamburg and West Africa. In correspondence he refers to the Hamburg-based business partner Paul Luck and writes of having brought items back from Benin City himself.
