Within the category of ‘Heads’ all representations of human and animal heads can be viewed together. Unlike a bust, these objects do not depict the head, neck and shoulders, hence why the term ‘head’ rather than ‘bust’ has been used. Furthermore, not all of these heads may have been used for commemorative purposes.
Some of these objects have been refined into more specific groupings such as Commemorative Heads, Commemorative Queen Mother Heads, Udo-style Heads and Trophy Heads, however it has not been possible to separate all objects which depict heads into these categories.
