Augustus Henry Lane Fox Pitt-Rivers (1827-1900) was a military man, archaeologist and collector, and one of the main private collectors of Benin objects during their first years on the market, buying largely from William Downing Webster. The vast majority of his acquisitions became part of his family museum in Farnham which was dispersed at the beginning the 1960s. The catalogues of both of his collections (the first of which founded the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford) are available online.
