Could be a family member of : Richard Edward Phillips Gabbett, who was a member of the Niger Coast Protectorat Forces from 1897 to 1900 and who deported the Ọba Ovonramwẹ from Benin 1897, and captured the Ologbose (Ologbosẹrẹ) after the British Military Campaign on Benin (Home, 1982, 127[126]).
