This bell was previously in the collection of the Cranmore Ethnographical Museum established by Harry Geoffrey and Irene Marguerite Beasley in 1928. This bell was part of the donation made by Irene M. Beasley to the British Museum in 1944 when the whole Beasley collection was distributed following H. G. Beasley's death in 1939.
Bell; lost-wax cast in brass and copper. Quadrangular in form with flaring sides and strap handle. Decorated on front panel with human head in low relief. Four stylised crocodiles in copper in corners, with five domed tacks in centre. Right and left panels have four stylised crocodiles in corners in copper with six domed tacks. Three domed tacks on handle. Iron clapper suspended from hole at top.
