Ukhure, wooden rattle staff. The middle portion carved to represent three internodes of bamboo. Above this is the rattle proper, formed by two hollows carved out of wood, each having a small rod-shaped piece of wood left free in the hollow, visible through the three longitudinal slots through which the excavation was made. This part of the staff is decorated with incised bands of simple linear designs, and is surmounted by the conventionalized figure of an elephant holding a feather.
