Drummers are members of a guild pertaining to the Iwebo palace society. They perform at the installation of officials and at palace ceremonies. The skin of the drums is fastened with strings, their adjustment with pins requires the help of an assistant. Smaller hand drums were carried on war campaigns and were beaten to animate the soldiers and intimidate the enemy.
