A carved wooden paddle from Benin City. The handle has been carved and resembles interlocking chains. The large, teardop-shaped head of the paddle has some sections carved out completely to depict stylised animals and lines, and other sections of the wood have been carved with geometric designs. The head of the paddle tapers to a point. An old object label with the old museum number (9.258) is stuck to the object.
