Description (full)
Photograph (black and white), from an album; view of a thatched 'resting place' shelter. There is a pole in the ground in front of the shelter with ornaments tied round it at intervals. Adjacent to the mature tree is branched support with fragmetn of pottery vessel or gourd on it. Edo State. Albumen print.

Ughoton is the port for Benin City. Gwatto is now called Ughoton. (Identified by N F Barley, 04/06/1996).~Photographs in collections Af,A46 and Af,A47 were originally contained in single album containing 176 photographs.
