Paterson was based in Accra (see inscription). It is unclear whether Paterson was the photographer or the printer of the photograph. (Pers. comm. H Cornwall-Jones, 10/06/1996.)~Photographs in collections Af,A46 and Af,A47 were originally contained in single album containing 176 photographs.
