Description
Object documentation photograph. View of the back of an ancestral commemorative head cast in bronze. Known as uhunmwum-elao. The hole in the back of the head would have been used for inserting an ivory tusk.

Notes
This photographic print was previously stored in a drawer. The cataloguer has marked the drawer C72/. This photograph was found loose amongst the pages of a note book which is now stored in the paper archive (See Archive Refence). No Blench and Alexander catalogue record for this photographic print. Similar head (E.1902.94) on display in UCMAA anthropology gallery in 1999. Information in the Place field refers to the place of origin of the object depicted. This is not necessarily the place where the photograph was taken.
