Dear Sir, I beg to acknowledge your letter enclosing cheque value £5 on a/c with best thanks. It was forwarded on to me in London and just missed me hence delay in answering. With regard to the Tongan Pendant I will let you have it at your price which is 1/- more than it cost me. I gave £4 for four two like the one you have and another similar to the one I send herewith, the other two I got 42/- and 30/- each for, the one now sent is really 5/- and cost but as the other one sold I give you the chance of this one cheap. I saw you in London this week when you were looking in at Miss Cutter’s window. I think you should secure a few specimens from Benin for the Museum as you will not have the chance later. I am buying up all I can lay my hands on. This week I have purchased one officer’s collection for £200. Up to the present I have sold Pitt Rivers £645, Edinburgh £131.10, Vienna £400 Dresden £80 Berlin £340 Liverpool £30.5 New Zealand £62, Dublin £72 and about £100 to odd buyers. With kind regards I remain Yours faithfully W.D. Webster
