This is a video about a prominent Osun priest in the kingdom of Benin, known as Ebomisi. The priest was a very powerful herbalist and renowned for defeating any priest he played host to until he was defeated by one of his guests, the Ọbo n'Ayen. Ebomisi lived during the reign of Ọba Ewuare I. Ebonmisi was one of the great herbalists that served the royal court until they were granted to go and settle at any part of the kingdom that they so pleased. Hence, Ebomisi opted to settle at Ugoneki town. From there he continued his medicinal practice - Osun (the deity or ritual associated with the powers inherent in medicinal herbs). Ebomisi is said to have died as a result of his failed skirmishes against Ọbo n'Ayen.
