The Story of Ekaladerhan

He narrates the story of Ogiso Owodo and what led to the banishment of Ekaladerhan. He stated that this crisis led to the consultation of a soothsayer by a delegate the Ogiso assigned. These delegates were led to the oracle by Enahen Esagho, the same woman whom the oracle said was responsible for the Ogiso Owodo’s harem not producing children. After their return from the oracle she lied and twisted the oracle’s message. This was what led to the condemnation of Ekaladerhan to death. The place where the executioners sacrificed a fowl in place of Ekaladerhan for the purpose of having evidence of blood was named Urhokhokho, which is today along Ẹkewan road. From there Ekaladerhan went to Ughọtọ, but owing to loneliness, after staying for a while he continued his journey. He left Ughọtọ and continued walking until he got to Igue Adimu (Ile-Ife).
