Zum Zeremonialgewand des Königs und hoher Würdenträger gehören kleine Anhängermasken, die zumeist an der linken Hüfte getragen werden. Sie verweisen auf den Rang des Inhabers und sind je nach Darstellung für spezifische Feste vorgesehen. Elfenbeinmasken bleiben dem Oba vorbehalten und konnten bei bestimmten Gewandtypen an mehreren Stellen befestigt sein.

The ceremonial attire of the king and high dignitaries includes small pendant masks, usually worn on the left hip. They indicate the rank of the holder and, depending on the representation, are intended for specific ceremonies. Ivory masks are a prerogative of the Oba and could be attached in several places on specific types of garments.
